Back in the 1950's the Promisedland Vol. Fire Company was born. People of the area joined together as one to make this Fire Dept. a reality. For over 50 years, people of the community have volunteered to help their neighbors in that time of need. What makes a Fire Dept? It is people who Volunteer their time to help others in that time of need. It is the people in the community who support them. Through the combined spirit of the volunteers and support of the community, the fire company is almost 60 years old. Every year is an improvement. Back in 2005, construction on a replacement building for Fire Station number 1 was started and the building was dedicated on October 14, 2006.  In 2008, a used Engine was purchased to replace the aging engine at Station number 2.  In June 2009, a Pierce Engine was donated to our company from the Imperial Volunteer Fire Company near Pittsburgh.  We are getting it ready for use as soon as possible. Weekly In house drills are held to hone members skills. Members also attended many schools run by the State of Pennsylvania in Fire, Ems, LifeFlight and Vehicle rescue.
